According to the National Association of REALTORS® 2012 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers the overwhelming majority of recent home buyers consider this a major factor when considering a home for purchase. Infact, it is nearly 9 out of 10!

Home buyers are demanding greener homes and are looking for environmentally friendly feautes. It is beyind a trend, it is now a way of life.
Energy efficient homes help save money on monthly heating and cooling costs. Nearly 4 in 10 stated that the home’s hearting and cooling costs are vary important in considering a home. No surprise that buyers in the North and South (including Missouri) place a greater importance on this since they typically have higher heating and cooling costs.

Home Prices Continue Rising, Sales Steady

iStock_000017671796XSmall-300x300 Home sales remain strong. Compared to October 2012, home sales this October were 2.2% higher. Median home prices were up too, at 11.9% above October 2012. These statistics are according to RE/MAX’s National Housing Report released this November.

We’ve had 21 months of year over year increases in both sales and prices. The inventory drop is lower too,

Home prices are on the rise due to a combination of low inventory and a strong buyer demand. Homes are spending less time on the market, down 16 days as compared to October 2012.
